The Washington wine industry has skyrocketed in recent years and Lake Chelan and the Columbia Valley have become home to too many wineries to name. With so many delicious wines and welcoming wineries, picking a favorite has never been harder. We love any chance we get to taste our way through our own backyard, meeting the talented winemakers and sipping impressive wines.
But we understand that it can be a bit overwhelming to begin your wine tasting journey these days. If you’re wondering “Why Rio Vista?” when planning your next tour of the valley, we’ve come up with a few reasons why we think you’ll enjoy your time with us!
If you’re wine tasting in Manson for the day, you can find us at the cabin on Wapato Way for a convenient and cozy stop. In the summer, enjoy wine slushies on the patio, and in the cooler months, cozy up next to the fireplace with a bold Malbec. The cabin is walking distance to several other wineries and restaurants, so you don’t even have to worry about driving!
Wanting to get out of the “big city” for the day? Leave your worries behind and head down to our location along the Columbia River for an easy getaway. You’ll instantly feel transported far away as you sip delicious wine and look out over the water.
A Family Affair
From growing the grapes to making the wine, Rio Vista is a family affair. With John and Jan at the helm, and John Jr. right there alongside them, this family knows their way around wine. They care deeply about unlocking the full potential of each varietal grown in their vineyard. And, while they take their winemaking very seriously, they also enjoy the lighthearted experience of drinking wine riverside on a warm, sunny day. Come to Rio Vista and get to know the family!
We can’t write about Rio Vista without mentioning our award-winning wines. We’ve been curating and honing our winemaking skills for years, and we think it really shows in each and every pour. From our beloved signature Loony Red blend to our bright Estate Chardonnay to our Sunset on the River Rosé, you’re sure to find a wine that speaks to you and your palate.
We can’t wait to welcome you at either of our locations, at the cabin or on the river, for a glass of wine and good times. See you soon!
