Kayaking Event, 2010

Friday, June 25th, 2010

Kayaking Event, 2010:

On the morning of June 19th, the river at Rio Vista Wines below Wells Dam on the Columbia River Water Trail was at flood stage.  However, the 19 kayakers who launched that morning were in high spirits and eager for the 2-day-long paddle down the river to Wenatchee. Sunday, the 20th,  a culmination celebration was held to commemorate the opening of  the Greater Columbia River Water Trail Wenatchee Reach section of the river.

Kayakers and wanna-be kayakers are looking forward to next year’s event.  They expect even more kayakers to make the journey in 2011 as kayaking is the fastest-growing water sport in the US.
