You'll be delighted to uncover the treasure that is Rio Vista, the only winery located on the banks of the Columbia River along the Cascade Loop Scenic Highway. We are a small out-of-the-way winery with landscaped grounds and only ten minutes north of Chelan off Highway 97.

Estate grown and bottled, Rio Vista offers excellent red and white wines. At this time we have one red, our emerging superstar, Loony Red, and three white wines, a classical Chardonnay, a distinctive Riesling, and our splendid Sunset on the River.

Our Wines

Riesling

Considered by some to be the most noble of white grapes, this semi-sweet Riesling is intensely aromatic with a unique combination of delicacy and lustiness. It is elegant and crisp with an essence of fresh, juicy peaches and tropical fruits.

Sunset on the River

Nothing quite compares to a sunset over the water unless you're describing a glass of our glorious Sunset on the River. A celebration of the finest Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris grapes, it is redolent of red cherries and sweet raspberries. It is the perfect wine to serve as the sun sets over your favorite location.

Chardonnay

This Chardonnay was born of grapes exposed to the warm south-eastern sunlight and lovingly hand tended until perfectly ripe. Unoaked, the wine was fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks resulting in a bright golden color, not too dry, with the distinctive flavors of pear, autumn apples, and citrus.

Loony Red

Loony Red is a rich blend of estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah, barrel aged for more than 18 months. Its ruby red color intensifies the flavors of chocolate and coffee and finishes with a hint of ripe blackberries and plum. Loony Red (2005) was recently awarded a bronze medal in an international wine competition and is worthy of saving for that very special occasion.
