RIO VISTA WINES, the Winery on the River, is a hidden jewel on the banks of the sparkling Columbia River and the only waterfront winery. You can visit by car, boat or float plane. If you can’t come by boat or plane, watching from one of the three decks or landscaped lawns while savoring a glass of fine wine is an enjoyable experience.

Rio Vista’s owner/winemaker John Little walked away with the top award at the annual NCW Wine Awards. This year’s competition drew 244 entries from 37 wineries. The awards culminated with a gala wine tasting and awards presentation at the Toyota Center in Wenatchee.
John’s 2013 Viognier earned the judges highest admiration with a “Best of Show” plaque. In addition he was awarded a Double Gold Medal for the 2013 Riesling; Gold Medals for the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2013 Chardonnay and 2013 Wacky White; Silver Medals for 2012 Barbera, 2012 Malbec, 2012 Tempranillo, 2011 Loony Red, 2013 Sunset on the River; and a Bronze Medal for 2012 Pinot Noir.
No wonder he was named a Platinum Winemaker! Rio Vista’s many fans are exceedingly proud of him.
The French have a saying that the best wines come from grapes grown along a river. That’s certainly true here at Rio Vista Wines. Our grapes thrive and flourish in the exceptional micro climate created by the river, the long hot summer days, the moderate winters and the unique geology of the glacial soil. It’s a great place for people to thrive and flourish, too.
The hunt for great wines is an enjoyable sport, so bring your wine-loving friends and taste the passion in our wines.
